Box Office Report

A disasterous movie weekend turns into a disasterous movie box office report.

No movie crossed the $11 million mark over this weekend - surprisingly, Babylon A.D. only managed to collect a shameful $9 million after it was expected to make at least three times that amount - the film grossed in that low amount most probably due to the fact that the film received hideous reviews from not only the director, but from critics everywhere. This one debuted at #2. Tropic Thunder remained at #1, while The Dark Knight reclaimed the #3 spot, grossing in another $8 million, its domestic total is currently a record-breaking $502 million - just $98 million away from Titanic's total! The film's worldwide gross stands at $883 million.

Other debuts this weekend include Disaster Movie which debuted at #7, making in an extremely dissapointing $6 million - hopefully this is the end of these damn parodies!

College came in at #15 making $2 million - this is one of the lowest debuts in box office history! On to better news though, with $217 million grossed, Wall-E has leapfrogged 1992's Aladdin as the sixth highest-grosing G Rated movie of all-time! Impressive stuff.

The Hills Gang on the Cover of TV Guide

The Hills continues to be a huge MTV hit, as millions of people keep tuning in each week to watch a new episode of nothing but drama surrounding these hot young ladies. Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth and Audrina Patridge are on the new cover of TV Guide, looking incredible. Check them out!

Christina Aguilera- Inspire [TV Ad]

Christina Aguilera has shot a 20-second TV commercial, in which she promotes her new fragrance called Inspire. Check it out, she looks stunning in the ad.

Jessica Simpson on the Cover of People

Jessica Simpson appears on the new issue cover of People Magazine, in which she opens up about her personal live and her switch to the country genre. Again, her album Do You Know hits stores on September 9th.

Out on Theatres Today!

We've got one disaster of a movie weekend ahead. Literally.

First up, we've got Vin Diesel starring in Babylon A.D.
Now, this movie might look appealing on trailers, but the director of the film described it as "pure violence and stupidity" and that "parts of the movie are like a bad episode of 24." If the own director is saying this, then there's really no point in wasting time watching the film. In fact, early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a 0% positive rating! Ouch!

Another film that screams "stupidity" is that new parody starring Vanessa Minillo, Kim Kardashian and Carmen Electra, Disaster Movie. These parodies have gotten so old! Why do they keep making them? It's really starting to get annoying. Yeah, some were funny... but now, after seeing the same thing made over and over, there's nothing to really laugh about. Move on from the parodies, please!!!

Finally, we see Drake Bell take the lead role in College, a comedy film that revolves around Kevin, a high school senior who gets dumped by his girlfriend before going to college. Which results in the dude to turn into a fraternity party animal. I know, this doesn't sound too exciting either.

I might as well go out and watch The Dark Knight again!

Taylor Swift- "Love Story" Single Cover

Why couldn't she had picked this one as her album's cover? Here's the cover for Taylor Swift's new single "Love Story". If I'm not mistaken, the picture was taken on the set of the music video for this song. So we'll see. Nice picture.

Heidi Montag- "Overdosin" [Music Video]

If there were awards for Worst singer, Worst Song and Worst Music Video - Heidi Montag would win all three. The "singer" has released the music video for her new single "Overdosin'", and just like the song, it's terrible! The girl should just stick to looking hot on The Hills, this singing thing ain't gonna work for her. Check out the video if you dare.

Jessica Simpson Confirms New Single

After some speculation, Jessica Simpson has confirmed the title of what will be the second single to be released from her upcoming album Do You Know. The song, which has already created a buzz in the media world, is called "Remember That", which talks about domestic abuse. It's a beautiful song and I feel like Jessica hit a home run with this one. Can't wait to see the music video for this song. For those of you who have not heard the song, check out a fan-made YouTube video that features the full track. Enjoy.

Natasha Bedingfield Blogs About Jessica Simpson

Natasha Bedingfield has taken her blog on MySpace to talk about upcoming or new albums that she's feeling lately. In this excerpt she says: "Jessica Simpson- I'm not joking, look out for this one. I heard some of her new album and I was blown away. Country music is what Jess should have been doing all along. When she sings these songs you feel them."

Again, Jessica Simpson's debut country album Do You Know hits stores on September 9th, and Natasha Bedingfield's new single "Angel" is currently one of the most-added songs to Top 40 radio. Check out for both.

On Set of Heidi Montag's New Music Video

The video looks like it will be just as bad as the damn song! Heidi Montag has shot the music video for "Overdosin'", one of the terrible songs she has released to iTunes. Why doesn't she just stop making music? She ain't good! Thanks Mike.

Exclusive: Gabe Asks Ashlee Simpson

Thanks to the wonderful site Ashlee-Star.com, I was able to send in a simple short question for the very own Ashlee Simpson, and faster than I expected, she has replied. A million thanks to Radekk for the wonderful opportunity and to Ashlee Simpson for taking the time to answer our question.

Gabe: I've been wondering is if you're planning to release more singles from this album, or if you're moving on to release a brand new album in the near future? Also, do you plan to tour next year?

Ashlee: There will not be any more singles off the Bittersweet World album, but I will certainly be back with a new album and tour after the baby!

Good to know she's got plans of releasing new material after the baby's birth. :) Can't wait for that.

Weekend Box Office Report

Despite good promotion, The House Bunny wasn't able to debut at #1 on the Box Office. At #1 we find Tropic Thunder, once again. The comedy flick grossed in another $16.1 million over the weekend, the film's total currently stands at $65 million. Now, The House Bunny came in at #2, not too far away from #1 though, making 15.1 million dollars on its opening weekend. Not quite as much as it was expected, but more that half of the film's budget, which is good. The Dark Knight falls to #4 and the movie's total stands at an incredible 489 million dollars. Amazing. For a full report, click here.

[Hot Pick] Menudo- "Lost"

Two Hot Picks in a row!! This one comes from boy band Menudo. If anyone remembers, this group started in Puerto Rico back in the 1970's. In fact, Ricky Martin was a member of this group and later launched himself as a solo artist. The group was remade in 2007 with five new members and the search was featured in the MTV Tr3s reality series Road to Menudo. The band was remade and here is the first single released from their upcoming "debut" album. The song is called "Lost". This is as catchy as it can get. Check it out, good stuff. By the way, the song is also available in spanish under the title "Perdido Sin Ti".

[Hot Pick] M.I.A. - "Paper Planes"

This singer has been around for a while, but this is her first single to gain so much buzz and her first Billboard Hot 100 charting single (#5). Heck, it's her first song I hear on the radio! M.I.A. has recently released the song "Paper Planes" from her sophomore album Kala. The song is definitely one of the most original songs as of lately, and it's something completely different from the Disney Pop stuff we're hearing on radio these days. Check it out, it's amazing, definitely a Hot Pick! *MP3 available upon request*

Taylor Swift- Fearless Album Cover

I won't say official until I'm one hundred percent sure that this is indeed the real album cover. But this is the image floating around the web as the cover for Taylor Swift's upcoming sophomore album Fearless. It looks a little fan-made to me right now, so we'll see. The lead single from this album will be the song called "Love Story", to be released soon.

P!nk- "So What" [Music Video]

It's been a long time since a music video has made me laugh out loud. P!nk has just released the music video for "So What" - lead single from her upcoming October album release, Funhouse. About the music video, I think it's unbelieveable. It's creative, and just good fun. Loving this video. Aside from the video's release, Pink must be celebrating, as the song is currently the most-added single to Top 40 radio, that's massive! Congratulations to Pink! Enjoy the video. PS. The guy in the video is, in fact, Pink's ex-husband Carey Hart. Glad to see they remained friends.

Avril Lavigne- The Best Damn Tour Live DVD

Hitting the Big Screen: The House Bunny

With the mediocre movies being released these days, one thing is for sure: summer season is sadly coming to an end! Hitting the big screen today are a bunch of films that won't make any big splash at the box office. Maybe with the exception of The House Bunny, as it does seem somewhat interesting from the trailers. Shelley Darlington (Anna Faris), a Playboy Bunny, teaches an awkward sorority about the opposite sex – only to learn that what boys really like is what's on the inside.

Shelley is living a carefree life until a rival gets her tossed out of the Playboy Mansion. With nowhere to go, fate delivers her to the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta. Unless they can sign a new pledge class, the seven socially clueless women will lose their house to the scheming girls of Phi Iota Mu. In order to accomplish their goal, they need Shelley to teach them the ways of makeup and men; at the same time, Shelley needs some of what the Zetas have – a sense of individuality. The combination leads all the girls to learn how to stop pretending and start being themselves.

I might check this one out this weekend. I'm thinking about it. We'll see.

The girl is just making money all around, it's unbelieveable!

Jonas Brothers Will Debut at #1 - As Predicted

It's the first time in years that predictions have been so off, terribly off for that matter. It was reported last week that the Jonas Brothers would easily sell around 725,000 copies of their album A Little Bit Longer during the first week in release. Turns out that the result was nowhere near that number. In the end, the album will still massively debut at #1, but not quite as big as predicted. A Little Bit Longer ended up selling 510,000 during the week, yes, it's still more than what Mariah Carey, Madonna and Usher sold... but less than what Coldplay and Carrie Underwood managed to sell during week 1 with their newest albums. Either way, the album sold Gold in its first week, and it's an amazing accomplishment. Congrats to the Jonas Brothers.

New Jessica Simpson Promo

Jessica Simpson is getting ready to release her debut country album titled Do You Know this 9th of September via Columbia Nashville. She's released her Top 20 hit "Come on Over" and rumor has it that she will soon release "Remember That", which if true, would serve as the second single from the album. 90210 Not to Be Seen By Anyone Beforehand

The CW released a statement on Monday announcing that they won't be sending critics any advance screeners to review of their special premiere of the new 90210.

In other words, the two-hour premiere will not be seen by anyone beforehand.

The statement read, “The CW and our studio partner CBS Paramount Network Television have made the strategic marketing decision not to screen ‘90210’ for any media in advance of its premiere."

And they seemed to want to emphasize the following, "We're not hiding anything . . . simply keeping a lid on 90210 until 9.02, riding the curiosity and anticipation into premiere night, and letting all our constituents see it at the same time.”

Make sure to tune in on September 2, 2008 at 8pm/7c to catch the premiere of this highly-anticipated show.

Comedy Central's Roast of Bob Saget

Take one Beach Boys bongo-playing drummer, add the most acidic wife on television, throw in some ruthless professional stand-up comedians and you have the recipe for one serious insult firing squad. John Stamos leads off and sets up a murderer's row of roasters including Susie Essman, Greg Giraldo, Jeffrey Ross and more. Watch what happens when one of TV's most beloved father figures and dirty minds gets the Comedy Central Roast treatment. Watch the trailer for the Roast of Bob Saget below. Looks hilarious! Don't forget to watch tonight at 10PM/9PMc on Comedy Central. For Full House fans, other than Bob Saget (Danny) and John Stamos (Uncle Jesse), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky) and Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey) will all be part of the audience. So check this one out.

Box Office Report: New #1 and Summer's Biggest

We've finally got a new #1 this weekend. Tropic Thunder has topped the Box Office chart this weekend bringing in $26 million. Enough to send The Dark Knight packing to #2. This movie, however, is still grossing a lot more money that new movies like the new animated Star Wars flick. The Dark Knight pulled in $16 million to bring its amazing grand total to 471 million dollars - that's more than enough to make The Dark Knight the second highest-grossing film of all time in the US only behind Titanic which stands at 600 million dollars.

Now, instead of talking about the other insignificant debuts this weekend, let's do a short recap of this summer's huge movie hits and how much they've made. Firt up, Iron Man which managed to collect $317 million in 16 weeks - the DVD for this movie comes out September 30th. Can't wait to buy that. Next, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, flick that managed to make a great $315 million. Huge stuff. Will Smith's Hancock collected 225 million dollars and Disney Pixar's Wall-E has made $214 million so far. Finally, Dreamwork's Kung Fu Panda grossed in $211 million.

Huge summer hits, big numbers, great movies. For a full report, click here.

Solange Knowles- "Sandcastle Disco" [Video]

Beyoncé better watch out, her little sister is getting ready to take everyone up by storm! Solange has released the second single from her upcoming album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams. The song is titled "Sandcastle Disco" - and it's a nice contemporary R&B track that will surely become a chart-topper. This is not the music that I usually listen to, but I know something good when I heart it. Check out the music video above. She looks great, by the way.

Harry Potter's New Movie Moves to Summer 2009

I know... I'm just as angry as everyone else about this. Warner Bros. Pictures has announced their plans of pushing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince's release from November 21, 2008 to a much further July 17, 2009. making the announcement, Mr. Alan Horn stated, "Our reasons for shifting 'Half-Blood Prince' to summer are twofold: we know the summer season is an ideal window for a family tent pole release, as proven by the success of our last Harry Potter film, which is the second-highest grossing film in the franchise, behind only the first installment. Additionally, like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writers' strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films--changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of. We agreed the best strategy was to move 'Half-Blood Prince' to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer." Looks like we're going to have to wait 11 more months for this one. Major bummer!

Out Today on the Big Screen

A good amount of flicks are hitting theatres today! First off, Star Wars: The Clone Wars is making a wide release opening in 3,452 screen accross America. This animated film takes place between Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Interesting. I'm sure this will have a big debut this weekend.

Another animated film is being released today... Fly Me to the Moon 3D is being released to only 452 theatres in America because the film is three-dimentional and will only be released on IMAX theatres and those theatres that have the 3D feature.

Finally, coming out to 2,664 screens, is the horror flick Mirrors. A remake of the South Korean flcik Into the Mirror. Tons of choices this weekend. Let's see who comes out on top.

Ashlee Simpson - Zellers Commercial

After the announcement of her pregnancy, Ashlee Simpson has stayed away from the public eye, except from an appearance or two on FNMTV. The singer has shot a commercial for Zellers, and I've got the video here for us. The song you hear on the background is "Boys", which was set to be the third single from her album Bittersweet World. Too bad all promotion was dropped for the album. Let's hope she comes back with a new album after giving birth. Check out the commercial, she looks great!

Carrie Underwood - Behind The Scenes @ Allure

I think I've just fallen in love even more with Carrie Underwood. As I said before, the singer will appear on the new issue of Allure magazine, and I've got the behind the scenes look at the photoshoot. Quite honestly, she looks gorgeous! Check the pics out. Can't wait to see the final shots.
