Jon Gosselin Dropped From TLC Reality Series
After months of scandals and controversies, TLC has finally made the decision to drop Jon Gosselin from their reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which has been on the air for nearly three years now. A source close to the show has said: “Given Jon’s recent antics, there was no way the show could continue to portray him as a doting Dad, not while all this other crap was going on."The show, as of November 2009 will change its title to simply Kate Plus 8 and the series will focus on Kate as a single mother.
Ironically, today Jon also made an announcement - his plans of stopping the divorce and his wish to work things out with Kate. He said, “Even though we were heading for a divorce, it appeared that Kate had been suffering from this divorce as much as I had. That’s why I asked my attorney to put the brakes on this divorce so I could try to regain control over the future of our family. So Kate and I could join on a cooperative course that would benefit our family — not destroy it…I regret my conduct since Kate and I separated [on June 22]. I used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon.”
Ohhh the drama. Poor kids, they're the only true victims on all this crap.

The Hills? Definitely Fake
... but we all knew that already. Kristin Cavallari who is taking over Lauren Conrad's place on The Hills admitted to the LA Times that the show is fake. Check out some highlights from her interview below. On the producers:
"I pretty much do anything they have me do because I don't care. I mean, we're filming a TV show. Let's make it interesting. Let's have a good time with it."
On Laguna Beach and hating the way she was made out to be the villain:
"I almost felt like it was unfair for [MTV] to come into our lives at such a young age and sort of mess with things. I don't regret it, but I was 17 — of course I wanted to be on TV. I felt like they should have been a little bit more careful with us."
On showing up to work at "pre-selected" locations Wednesday through Friday:
"They tell us what to talk about. Listen, I have fun with it. They film Curb Your Enthusiasm the same way."
On her reality:
"The thing is, if this was a reality show about my life, they would follow me going to auditions and studying with acting coaches, but they didn't want to show that because it's not glamorous. They make it seem like we have perfect lives and like we have all this money."
On The Hills' "reality:"
"Everyone is trying to get story lines and create drama in their lives. It's just so…fake. There's no truth to it. At all."

Karina Smirnoff for PETA
Dancing With the Stars beauty Karina Smirnoff wants all her fans to know that there's nothing sexy about wearing fur. In fact, she'd rather dance naked, which is exactly what she does in her racy PETA ad.A reformed fur-wearer, Karina says she stopped wearing fur after learning about what happens to animals who are killed for their skins. "I did wear fur, especially when I was little. But there are ways of being warm and being fashionable without being cruel."
Each year, millions of foxes, minks, raccoons, chinchillas, rabbits, and other animals—including dogs and cats—are bludgeoned, strangled, drowned, and electrocuted so their fur can be made into so-called "luxury items." Many of these animals are even skinned alive for fashion.
Says Karina, "You have a choice as an individual, you have a choice in the press, in the world, whether to make a statement that you do support killing animals or make a statement when you don't. And you can still be as chic as you can possibly want to be."

Peace Concert Brings 1.1 Million Cubans Together
Colombian singer Juanes -- a 17-time Latin Grammy winner -- brought 15 international artists to Havana (Cuba) for Sunday's "Peace without Borders" concert. All of the artists wore white as a symbol of peace."I can't believe what my eyes are seeing," Juanes said on stage, describing the sea of people as a "beautiful dream." - Concert officials said an estimate of 1.15 million Cubans attended
the Peace without Borders event, more than half of what was expected and a new record crowd ever for an event staged at the Revolution Plaza in Havana.Sunday's event was Juanes' attempt to connect isolated Cubans with the rest of the region, including the United States. The decades-old U.S. embargo on Cuba is the most visible manifestation of the communist country's political isolation.
The crowd cheered when Juanes said, "We are all brothers, and we all have to be connected."
Cubans seemed delighted by their first chance in decades to hear international top-caliber Latin stars. - CNN.com
Wow. Congrats to him, this concert was a huge success! Making history.
