Peace Concert Brings 1.1 Million Cubans Together

Colombian singer Juanes -- a 17-time Latin Grammy winner -- brought 15 international artists to Havana (Cuba) for Sunday's "Peace without Borders" concert. All of the artists wore white as a symbol of peace.

"I can't believe what my eyes are seeing," Juanes said on stage, describing the sea of people as a "beautiful dream." - Concert officials said an estimate of 1.15 million Cubans attended the Peace without Borders event, more than half of what was expected and a new record crowd ever for an event staged at the Revolution Plaza in Havana.

Sunday's event was Juanes' attempt to connect isolated Cubans with the rest of the region, including the United States. The decades-old U.S. embargo on Cuba is the most visible manifestation of the communist country's political isolation.

The crowd cheered when Juanes said, "We are all brothers, and we all have to be connected."

Cubans seemed delighted by their first chance in decades to hear international top-caliber Latin stars. - CNN.com

Wow. Congrats to him, this concert was a huge success! Making history.
