Peace Concert Brings 1.1 Million Cubans Together

Colombian singer Juanes -- a 17-time Latin Grammy winner -- brought 15 international artists to Havana (Cuba) for Sunday's "Peace without Borders" concert. All of the artists wore white as a symbol of peace.

"I can't believe what my eyes are seeing," Juanes said on stage, describing the sea of people as a "beautiful dream." - Concert officials said an estimate of 1.15 million Cubans attended the Peace without Borders event, more than half of what was expected and a new record crowd ever for an event staged at the Revolution Plaza in Havana.

Sunday's event was Juanes' attempt to connect isolated Cubans with the rest of the region, including the United States. The decades-old U.S. embargo on Cuba is the most visible manifestation of the communist country's political isolation.

The crowd cheered when Juanes said, "We are all brothers, and we all have to be connected."

Cubans seemed delighted by their first chance in decades to hear international top-caliber Latin stars. - CNN.com

Wow. Congrats to him, this concert was a huge success! Making history.

Miss USA Falls on Her Ass (Again)

Crystle Stewart, Miss USA 2008 stumbled and fell at the Miss Universe 2008 ceremony in Vietnam last night. The funny thing is that this is not the first time this happens! Last year, Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith slipped and fell on her ass as well while doing her walk as a Top 10 finalist. Hilarious! USA chicks can't walk on a damn runway. Check out the pictures of the fallen ones, Miss USA 2007 falling on the right and Miss USA 2008 falling on the left.

The winner of this beauty contest was Dayana Mendoza from Venezuela and the runner-up was Taliana Vargas from Colombia.

Without Breasts There Is No Paradise

This has got to be the most original production for a TV drama series that I have heard of in years. Without Breasts There Is No Paradise is the working title of an NBC drama series produced by Universal Media Studios which is currently in development. The series features the travails of a pretty young prostitute, who seeks massive breast implants to attract a rich cocaine smuggler.

This show is adapted from Sin Tetas No Hay Paraíso, a 2006 Colombian soap opera. Its final episode scored a record 63% share of the country's viewers. The story is also based on investigative journalist Gustavo Bolivar's eponymous debut novel about child prostitution of that same name.

While the english version of the series is still under development, the United States-based television network, Telemundo will begin airing the series Sin Tetas No Hay Paraiso on June 16th at 10PM. This ought to be interesting.
