Blogging for a Good Cause

There are thousands of blogs on the web, but very little use the blog for humane causes. I have tought about it and one of the issues in the world that bother me the most is Canada's cruel seal hunting and it's time for me to pass on the word so together we can make a difference for these seals. Many people might not know that in Canada, 335.000 seal babies are brutually beaten to death for their fur. Know that this amount of seals will be cruelly killed this year as well. 98% of the seals killed in the past 2 years were between 2 weeks and 3 months old. Some seals are killed with a blow to the head using a wooden club or hakapik. The sealers stun as many baby seals as they can before going back to kill them. Some seals try to get away, but they are clumsy on the ice, heaving their little bodies with an uncoordinated flipper shuffle. Other seals are shot from a distance and then dragged from the ice onto boats using steel hooks. Why kill them? What have they done to us? We're in the 21st century, we DO NOT need animal fur to stay warm! Together we can make a difference for these guys, they can't help themselves but we can do it to save their lives.
