Album Sales Prediction Are In! Biggest Week of the Year

Let's make it short, and easy to read. Straight to the point! The sales prediction for the many releases of this week has been released, and the #1 spot is not going to be a debut. Susan Boyle will keep the spot for a second week with her album The Gift, predicted to sell another 300,000 copies this week!

Behind at #2 with the highest debut of the week comes America's Got Talent finalist Jackie Evancho. The ten year-old will sell around 270-290,000 copies of her album O Holy Night!

The next highest debut goes to Rihanna, whose album Loud is expected to end up selling between 180-190k copies this week.

Country group Rascal Flatts' latest album Nothing Like This is earmarked for between 170-180k - the same amount that is predicted for Keith Urban's Get Closer and Josh Groban's Illuminations.

Kid Rock returns with Born Free, his follow-up to the triple-platinum Rock N Roll Jesus, which is just behind that trio in the 160-170k range.

Finally, on to to the disappointing debuts:

Nelly's album 5.0 is predicted to sell between 55-60k while Lee DeWyze's album Live It Up is expected to sell 40-45k, which will be the debut album with the weakest first week sales of any previous Idol winner.

P!nk's Greatest Hits... So Far!!! album is predicted to sell the same amount as Lee DeWyze and finally, Norah Jones' compilation of duets, Featuring, will do 18-22k.

On a last-minute single change, Lee DeWyze announced through his Twitter account that the first single off his upcoming album will not be the title track "Live It Up", instead, it will be a song titled "Sweet Serendipity" which is scheduled to premiere tomorrow morning during Ryan Seacrest's radio show.

Lee DeWyze- Debut Album Cover & News

Lee DeWyze fans rejoice! Today, it was announced on AmericanIdol.com that Lee’s debut album will be titled Live It Up.

The first single off his new album, under the same name, will premiere on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this coming Wednesday.

“Putting out an album on a major label is truly a dream come true,” saysDeWyze in a press release. “I’m excited for all the peoplewho supported me throughout Idol to hear what I can do with my own songs. Thealbum shows a whole different side of me and I’m so proud of it.”

Lee collaborated with Toby Gad, John Shanks, Espionage and others to write most of the songs on his upcoming album. “To see my name listed in the credits on each song was really important to me because I’m a songwriter.” DeWyze says, “I also loved working with such talented writers. They all brought so much to the table and really helped me flesh out my sound.”

Lee’s album is expected to be an engaging blend of rootsy pop, rock and folk, anchored by DeWyze’s soulful, rough-edged voice and bright-sounding acoustic guitar, according to the press release.

“I grew up listening to Simon & Garfunkel, The Mamas & the Papas, Cat Stevens, and Kris Kristofferson. I love hard-edged vocals over pretty melodies — that’s what I’m about. I really admire guys like Dave Matthews and Ray LaMontagne, and to now be on the same record label as them — it just blows my mind.”

Lee’s first post-Idol album will drop on November 16th.
