The return of the Best Damn Blog! I'm feeling a lot better, my mouth is still killing me and it's gotten hard to even talk normally, but here I am! I can not let this blog go another day without entries, so let's get back on track!
Colombian singer Shakira has recently released a music video for the song "Hay Amores", a bolero that she recorded for the film, Love in the Time of Cholera. The video is simple but amazing, the song is beautiful and Shakira looks stunning! Check it out.

Shakira- "La Despedida" at The Tonight Show
Other than Shakira, I can't remember who else has performed in spanish at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The colombian singer sang her single "La Despedida" - song which has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award under the Best Original Song from a Movie category for Love In The Time of Cholera. Her posibilities of getting a nod for an Academy Award are high! Let's hope for the best, check out the great performance. Enjoy.

Weekend Box Office Report
Yes, it was another slow week, far from those huge summer films like Spider Man 3, Harry Potter, Transformers, Shrek, and others. This weekend, the #1 spot went to Beowulf, an animated epic film adapted from the Old English heroic epic poem of anonymous authorship. The cast of the #1 film which grossed over $28 million, includes Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, and Angelina Jolie. At #2, Bee Movie holds on steadily, while adding another $13 million to its $93 million box office gross total so far, not bad. American Gangster falls to #3 collecting another $13 million, now they stand at $100 million total. Other movies are quite boring and not worth mentioning, other than Love in the Time of Cholera which opened at #10 with a dissapointing $1 million collected, ouch. I honestly can't wait 'til next summer to see these numbers rise once again.

Love in the Time of Cholera Trailer
Love in the Time of Cholera is motion picture directed by Mike Newell. Based on the novel El Amor en los Tiempos del Cólera by famous colombian author Gabriel Garcia Márquez, it tells the story of a love triangle between Fermina Daza and her two suitors, Florentino Ariza and Doctor Juvenal Urbino which spans 50 years, from 1880 to 1930. On his own initiative, García Márquez convinced Grammy-winning colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, who hails from the nearby city of Barranquilla, to provide two songs for the film, "Hay Amores" and the song heard on the official trailer, "La Despedida". The film opens this 16th of November in the U.S., this is sure to be one great movie. Enjoy.
