Katy Perry: Fifth Artist to Land Six Top Tens From One Album
When the pop history book is finally written about this era of music, upcoming SNL host Katy Perry will have at least one more achievement to look back on, following her record five Hot 100 chart-topping singles from Teenage Dream — she’s now only fifth artist to land six Top 10 hits on the Hot 100 from one album in the chart’s 53-year history. She’s also the first to do so since Janet Jackson’s 1993 LP janet. also produced six.
Perry’s “The One That Got Away” has moved up six positions to #10 on the new Hot 100 chart that will be officially published tomorrow. In addition to radio play, the song no doubt got an added boost following the premiere of its music video two weeks ago.
Following this achievement, Billboard has highlighted the five artists — Katy and Janet being the only females — and seven albums that have pulled off the impressive chart trick. They include the following:
1. Michael Jackson, Thriller (released in 1982, seven Top 10 singles)
2. Bruce Springsteen, Born In The USA (1984, seven)
3. Michael Jackson, Bad (1987, six)
4. George Michael, Faith (1987, six)
5. Janet Jackson, Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989, seven)
6. Janet Jackson, janet. (1993, six)
7. Katy Perry, Teenage Dream (2010, six)
On to other exciting news, Katy Perry concluded her California Dreams World Tour last week at the Staples Center in California, where she announced that the final concert would be released on a DVD next year. The Tour lasted 124 dates around the world, including dates in Europe, Australia, Asia and South and North America.

Bublé Will Rise to #1, Nickelback to Debut at #2, Rihanna at #4.

Based on one-day sales, Michael's year-end collection looks to be the big winner coming out of Black Friday, with an estimate of 250-275k, which would be enough to turn back all the Mega Monday debuts.
Still, given the big shopping weekend, please be aware that sales could go higher than what are predicted.
Roadrunner’s Nickelback win the battle of the newcomers, with their seventh studio album, Here and Now, which is looking to be in the 210-225k range.
Last week’s chartopper, Drake, drops to #3 with an estimated 190-215k, bringing its two-week total to around 860k.
Pop diva Rihanna’s Talk That Talk should enter at #4, with between 180-200k, which compares favorably to the 207k she debuted with for last year’s Loud.
Rocker Daughtry's third album, Break the Spell, will debut at #5 with between 140-150k, while his previous release, 2009's Leave This Town, bowed with 270k.

Carrie Underwood Fourth Album Update
Carrie Underwood doesn’t twitter or facebook, but she keeps her fans up-to-date through regular blog posts on her fan club site,In her latest blog post this morning, the season 4 Idol winner and country music star revealed that she hit the studio to lay down 3 more tracks in the week before the CMA awards, bringing the total songs recorded for her 4th studio album to 9. She plans to record 4-6 more in early December before producer Mark Bright “takes over”.
Carrie says she’ll be doing a little more writing this week and plans to pen tunes up until the very last minute. Currently, she and her team are choosing the lead single. There’s lots of tempo, she says, with some really rocking songs. But she won’t forget the ballads, she’s currently locking in some great ones as we speak.
Carrie’s next album is set to be released in early 2012.

Adele Changed Third Single To "Set Fire to the Rain"
Believe it or not, though it’s been out for nearly a whole year now, and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide, there’s still only been two official singles released off Adele’s 21. Of course, those two singles were “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You,” which have sold a combined 7 million copies in the US and spent a combined 12 weeks on top the Hot 100, so you can forgive the slow roll-out some, but now at long last we have a third release from that album: “Set Fire to the Rain.” Billboard reports that while Columbia records was originally planning on pushing “Rumour Has It” as the third single, the label’s research “found more programmer preference for ‘Set Fire to the Rain’.”
I'm glad they changed it, I've been waiting for this song to be released for too long.

[Preview] Haley Reinhart & Casey Abrams- "Baby, It's Cold Outside"
The song, Casey says, “reminds you of the fireplace.” He lauds the track for being a “straight up a jazz standard” with “no four-on-the-floor bass drum.”
Universal sent out a press release announcing the single:
Santa Monica, California, November 2, 2011 – 19/Interscope Recording artist, and American Idol finalist, Haley Reinhart has teamed up with fellow Idol alum, Casey Abrams, on a jazzy ensemble of the Holiday classic “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”. The track was produced by busbee and recorded at Conway Studios in Los Angeles. “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” will be available at all digital partners November 21st.
Haley, who is currently in the studio writing and recording for her debut album out early next year, jumped at the opportunity to work with Casey again. On Idol, the pair where known for their unique, standout performances and jazzy vocal style. The two quickly became fan-favorites, and when they performed “Moanin’” on the Idol stage, it showcased their smooth vocals and spoke to their undeniable chemistry. Entertainment Weekly exclaimed “Moanin’” was “One of the best duets of all time on American Idol”.
