Steve, Paula and Nicole Fired From The X Factor

Paula's statement:
"Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X Factor next season.

I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations. Simon and I, along with Fox and Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation.

Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine and I’ve treasured my experience working this past season with my extended family at Fox and Fremantle. I want nothing more than for The X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams. This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful."

Nicole's statement:
"I wanted to let you know directly from me that it's true I won't be returning to The X Factor. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead and making great music and more! I'm grateful for the love you always give me."

Steve's statement:
"
I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I've had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show."

L.A. is next! I would have rather seen him go over the other three.

The X Factor: Third Elimination

*SPOILER WARNING*
Bottom 2:
Astro & Stacy Francis

Eliminated:
Stacy Francis

Astro was a bitter disrespectful little brat on tonight's elimination show, if it were up to me, I would have sent him home. Although I'm sure America will take care of that next week. Stacy also deserved to go home, after she was caught in all of her lies and still kept lying.

Jessica Simpson Confirms 'X Factor' Talks

Jessica Simpson has confirmed Internet reports that she has been approached for a judging position on Simon Cowell’s upcoming Fox singing competition show The X Factor.

“They have definitely talked to me about X Factor,” she tells Women’s Wear Daily. “I think it would be a lot of fun. It’s definitely my life. To be a mentor for up-and-coming artists is right up my alley. I would have loved to have a mentor. I love watching people’s dreams come true.”

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Cowell has snapped up L.A. Reid, former chairman of Island Def Jam, as his first judge. “Even though a lot of people won't know who he is, he is actually a fascinating guy and I think a lot of people will like the fact that they're discovering him on the show,” Cowell recently told the Huffington Post of Reid.

As for casting the other judges – former American Idol judge Paula Abdul and George Michael have all been rumored additions — Cowell said it’s been “an interesting process.”

At the end of the day, Cowell told HP, “you trust your gut feeling to put together a panel that's going to work, and the most important thing is, people will decide, once they watch the show, whether we've made the right decision or the wrong decision.”

The other judges are expected to be announced within the next few weeks. The X Factor debuts on Fox in September.

Matt Cardle Wins Britain's "The X Factor"

Former painter and decorator Matt Cardle won Britain's "The X Factor" on Sunday, pipping Liverpudlian Rebecca Ferguson in the final poll in the ITV show watched by millions.

Cardle, 27, sang "Many of Horror" by Scottish band Biffy Clyro in the final, a track which will now be released as a single and is among the frontrunners to claim the coveted Christmas number one chart slot next week.

Cardle, from Colchester in Essex, had been coached by Dannii Minogue and was the bookmakers' Favorite ahead of the show.

Ferguson, 24, performed "Distant Dreamer" by Welsh singer Duffy in her last performance. Her jazz-tinged vocals had won her many admirers throughout the series as she shook off her initial stage fright.

Cardle, who also plays guitar, was the other obvious stand-out act from the thousands who auditioned for the show.

Teenage boy band One Direction, bidding to become the first group to win the competition, were eliminated earlier in the final show and finished third.

Simon Cowell Banning Songs from The X Factor

Simon Cowell has reportedly drawn up a list of over-used songs that X Factor contestants are banned from singing.

The judge is worried that viewers will grow bored of hearing the same songs, according to the News of the World. It is also reported that Cowell is becoming irritated by his favourite songs being "murdered" by hopefuls.

Banned songs include Kings of Leon's 'Sex on Fire' and two tracks by Paolo Nutini. The move is part of a series of on-going changes for the show, after previous clamp downs on sob stories and the recommendation that hopefuls should get dancing lessons.

A source said: "This is about people's real honesty and personality. It's about them and their stage presence."

The list of Simon's banned songs includes:

Kings Of Leon - "Sex On Fire"
Jason Mraz - "I'm Yours"
Paolo Nutini - "Last Request"
Paolo Nutini - "New Shoes"
Eva Cassidy - "Songbird"
Snow Patrol - "Chasing Cars"

Simon Cowell Leaving Idol for The X Factor

Simon Cowell just signed an agreement to bring X-Factor stateside in the Fall of 2011. Here’s how the FOX schedule will run: American Idol in the Winter/Spring, Dancing with the Stars in the Summer and X Factor in the Fall.

Simon hints that he will work with Paula Abdul in some capacity, but stops short of announcing her as one of the judges. An announcement about the other X Factor judges will be made fairly soon.

Simon says he wants to leave Idol this year “bigger and better than ever.”

Simon also expects Idol will remain the #1 show and that he would not have brought X Factor to the states if he didn’t believe they could co-exist.
