The Best Damn Music Videos of 2008!

Another year has come and gone, and with it, many music videos that will be remembered for a long time to come. During the last couple of weeks, I have gone through a list of music videos that were released this year. For this year, the videos were chosen after taking into consideration the following: chart performance, radio airplay, digital sales, song and music video quality and of course, personal favoritism. The thirty videos chosen were not only great hits, but also songs that I know will reflect what a great year 2008 was. No more say, The Best Damn Blog Presents: 2008's Best Damn Music Videos.

Marley & Me Tops Five Debuts at the Box Office

That's right, there were a total of five movie debuts this long holiday weekend at the Box Office and the family flick Marley & Me came out at #1 with a wide margin. Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson are celebrating the number one film in America which made an amazing total of $51 million! Incredible.

Following the doggy film at #2, we find Brad Pitt in the award-nominated movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which grossed in a very good $39 million over the long holiday weekend which started last Thursday and ended today.

Adam Sandler comes in very close at #3 in Bedtime Stories, the Walt Disney film grossed a great $38 million. Now, the last debut inside the Top 5 is Valkyrie starring Tom Cruise in Nazi Germany. The movie, which has been negatively rated by critics, managed to collect $30 million this weekend. Pretty good.

To finish up this report, I did mention five debuts in the Box Office this weekend, unfortunately, the lowest debut goes to the film Spirit, which came in at #9 making only $10 million. Not good, sadly.

ENJOY! =D

Now In Theaters!

Looks like people seriously love a good puppy film! Marley & Me starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston made an estimated $14.6 million on it opening day, ranking #1 at the box office, and in the process became the biggest Christmas Day opener of all time! Congrats to them. Another film making good cash is Brad Pitt's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which is set in New Orleans, Louisiana from the end of World War I on November 11, 1918 all the way to 2005. It follows the life of Benjamin Button, who is born with the appearance and physical limitations of a man who is 87 years old. Abandoned in a nursing home by his father, Thomas Button, Benjamin begins aging backward on the outside of his body. While in the home, he meets Daisy (Cate Blanchett), a young aspiring ballerina. As the film progresses, the two fall in love, while struggling to deal with the issue of one growing younger while the other grows older. Interesting enough. Great movies to watch this weekend!

Will Smith's streak of debuts at #1 has come to an end thanks to Jim Carrey and his comedy flick Yes Man, which has made its debut at #1 on the box office making a good $18 million over the weekend. Not too bad. Will Smith settles for #2 with his newest film Seven Pounds which collected $14 million. Finally, for a #3 debut, we have the family cartoon The Tale of Desperaux, making $10 million over the weekend. It was a slow weekend for movies overall. For a full chart, click here.

Hitting the Big Screen Today!

Will Smith's last seven films have all made a debut at #1 on the box office, and he hopes to keep that momentum going with his new movie Seven Pounds. Smith plays the role of an IRS agent with a fateful secret who embarks on an extraordinary journey of redemption by forever changing the lives of seven strangers. Sounds interesting, but if you're not into drama films or want to take the younger ones to the movies this weekend, then the perfect choice will be the cartoon The Tale of Desperaux featuring the voices of Matthew Broderick and Emma Watson. The film is a modern fairy tale of several unlikely heroes: Despereaux, a brave mouse banished to the dungeon for speaking with a human; Roscuro, a good-hearted rat who loves light and soup, but is exiled to darkness; Pea, a princess in a gloomy castle who is prisoner to her father's grief; and Mig, a servant girl who longs to be a princess, but is forced to serve the jailer. Sounds like a nice film. It's going to be a close race for #1! Let's see who pulls out on top.
