Finally released to DVD and BluRay tomorrow [April 1st] is one of last year's most-watched films, Alvin and the Chipmunks. The movie grossed a total of 356 million dollars worldwide, that's insane! Not to mention that the album's official soundtrack has already been certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies in the US alone. Talk about success! Don't forget to pick up a copy of the DVD, I know I will.

Mariah and Madonna Brake Two Records in a Week
Two records previously set by Elvis Presley are set to be broken this coming week after the digital release of Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" and Madonna's "4 Minutes". Both songs received enough digital downloads to make the singers take the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and the other to add another top 10 hit to her list.
First, Carey is on track to collect her 18th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week. In regard to the digital release of the single, Billboard stated that, "...the fresh availability of a digital download should send the song hurtling to the top next week. That will push Carey to second place among artists with the most No. 1s in the rock era. The record is held by the Beatles with 20; Carey is currently tied with Elvis Presley."
Meanwhile, Madonna's "4 Minutes" will jump into the Top 10 this week and she will beat Elvis as the artist with the most Top 10 hits in music history. It will be her 37th beating Elvis' previous set record of 36 Top 10 hits!
Crazy isnt' it? Congrats to both.

[MP3] David Cook- "Billie Jean" [Studio Recording]

The one performance that stuck out the most this week after the American Idol top 10 performed songs from their birth year, was David Cook's rendition of "Billie Jean". I've got here the full studio recording for download instead of the live performance, I decided to post it since the performance has been on talk everywhere since Tuesday, so here it is. Enjoy.

Hitting The Big Screen Today: Stop-Loss
After returning home after his duty, Iraqi war hero Sgt. Brandon King (Ryan Phillippe) began to resume his old life with the help of his family, and best friend Steve Shriver (Channing Tatum), who served with him in Iraq. Against his will, the Army calls Brandon back to duty in Iraq via stop-loss policy. This conflict tests his family relationships, loyalty of friendship, value of honor, and limits of love. Stop-Loss is the first anti-war film produced by MTV and I'm sure it will have a strong opening. The trailer is very promising and I'm posting it below. Enjoy.Anya Kop's Timeless Nude Photoshoot
As requested by affanazami, here's the photoshoot where America's Next Top Model contestant Anya Kop won a challenge, in which the reward was a nude shoot with Nigel Barker that would go into Anya's portfolio. Check out the pictures.

Heather Kuzmich on the Cover of Spectrum
Top Model alum Heather Kuzmich appears on the March 2008 issue of Spectrum Magazine where she talks about her success after the show ended and how she took in the love and support millions of people gave her during the show. She says she did not expect to gain such a big fan base, instead, she expected to annoy a lot of people. This is Heather's first cover since ending fifth place on the show and I'm sure not the last one. She's got a huge carreer ahead of her. Check it out.

America's Next Top Model: Fifth Shoot
This episode starts with Dominique's alarm clock going off sparodically throughout the night, irritating her roommates. Tension mounts when Lauren, Claire, and Whitney accuse Dominique for being a negative person, bringing Dominique to tears.Tyra teaches the girls how to pose at the end of the runway. Banks also teaches the ladies how to pose while looking pained. She then declares a pose-off including the material learned, in which Anya impresses Tyra the most. The teach was actually a challenge, and Anya wins a chance to shoot a timeless nude photograph taken by Nigel Barker.
The photo shoot this week was embodying different genres of music in which Whitney is commended for her photo and called first, while Fatima is finally given approval for her range of poses. Katarzyna was called second as she produced a great photograph while sporting a short wig, which inspires Tyra to give her a second makeover. The other girls do fair. In the end, it is Aimee and Claire who land in the bottom two.
Tyra commented that both girls have produced the best photos in the competiton, but both fell flat this week. Aimee was criticized for not portraying her theme well, while Claire was too couture for her country music shoot. In the end, Claire is spared, and Aimee is sent home.

Chikezie Eliminated from American Idol
Chikezie was eliminated from American Idol tonight. The good news for him is that he made it to the Top 10 which secured him a spot in this summer's Idol tour. The bottom 3 consisted of Jason, Syesha and Chikezie. I must say I'm surprised that Syesha was in the bottom three instead of Ramiele, even more surprised that she was in the bottom two and it makes me realize that her peformances have been good but not good enough to win her a strong fan base. If this is to go on, Syesha might be the next one to go home. About Jason, I knew he would be in the bottom three, although I hoped it would be David A instead. His fan base is ridicously strong, I just hope not strong enough to make him the winner. Anyway, former idol alum Kimberley Locke performed "Fall" during the show, it was a great performance and she looked better than she ever has. I'll post that video when it's up. The Top 9 is now Carly, Brooke, Jason, Kristy, David A, David C, Michael, Ramiele and Syesha. Dolly Parton is the mentor next week and has me thinking they will perform country. Interesting.

American Idol Top 10 Performances - Comments
Ramiele: Performed "Alone" by Heart - Many girls have performed this song on American Idol over the past seasons and even 'till now the one that sticks out the most for me is Carrie Underwood's performance during Season 4. Ramiele did an ok job, but I agree with Randy, who said the song was too big for her. Overall? 6.5/10
Jason: Performed "Fragile" by Sting - He's becoming the multi-language singer in the competition. French last week, spanish this week. I liked the performance, but his style never changes and people in American might get bored with him faster than expected... he needs to step up his game or he'll be gone soon. 6.5/10
Carly: Performed "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler - I love this girl. Never have her performances dissapointed me and tonight I feel she did pretty good. She's got a great voice and I feel that the song fit her well. She got mixed feedback from the judges and I'm truly hoping America doesn't put her in the Bottom 3 tomorrow because she does not deserve it. 7.5/10
Syesha: Performed "If I Were Your Woman" by Stephanie Mills - Being in the Bottom 3 during Top 12 night woke her up completely. She's now had two good weeks in a row and with tonight's performance, she did enough to move on in the competition. 7.5/10
Chekeize: Performed "If Only For One Night" by Luther Vandross - He performed an old ballad and he might have bought a plane ticket home. The performance was boring and just bad... right now, I can't even remember it too much. Ballads are clearly not his thing and in my opinion, he was the worst tonight. 5/10
Brooke: Performed "Every Breath You Take" by The Police - Thank God she's back to what she does best. Last week, we saw an awkward (but not bad) performance from Brooke. Tonight she went back to the piano and belted out another song that worked perfectly for her. Again, she was one of my favorites... and although I'm not seeing too many sides from Brooke I think it's safe to say she will be around for a minute. 8/10
Michael: Performed a medley of "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" by Queen - It's about time the dude made a comeback. He hasn't shined in the competition since Top 24 night. His performance was great and one my favorite from the night (with David Cook). Great energy and great vocals. 8.5/10
David Archuleta: Performed "You're The Voice" by David Foster - If anything is fair, this kid will land in the Bottom 3 tomorrow night. If I'm going to be honest, I'll say that he's not as good as others paint him to be... this week he did some song and it was terrible and definitely not his style. Simon said he didn't think David chose the song to perform himself and I agree. David's father has been on this kid's tail night and day and if you vote for David let me just say you're voting mostly for his father. He just better step back and let David do what he wants to do and he might even get better. Tonight? Disaster. 6/10
Kristy Lee: Performed "God Bless The U.S.A." by Lee Greenwood - Simon said it! Her best performance in the competirion so far. Kristy was on a downward spiral over the last three to four weeks until now. It is one of the most meaningful and most respected songs ever written and Kristy did no wrong performing it tonight. She truly needed this performance to stay and move on after landing in the Bottom 2 for two weeks in a row. 7.5/10
David Cook: Performed "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson - My absolute favorite from tonight. Although I think he's becoming a little too cocky for his own good, I must say that the vocals in this performance were incredible. Randy said he might be the one to win the competition and I completely agree. Amazing, indeed. 8.5/10 - I'll be posting his (and Michael's) performance as soon as I get the videos.

The Hills Season 3.5 Kicked Off
Everyone's favorite reality show has returned! The second half of season three kicked off tonight at 10PM during a one-hour premiere that featured a Mariah Carey performance at the Live premiere party. During the episode we see what went down while Lauren and Whitney are in Paris working for Teen Vogue. In the States we see Heidi moved to Colorado with her parents to stay away from Spencer and clear her head, but he ends up going out to visit her, then the drama follows. Heidi doesn't want to see Spencer and when he leaves tells him to move out when she returns to California. Interesting stuff, the drama never ends. I've posted above a trailer that shows what's to be expected this season. This is some entertaining TV, scripted or not. Check out the trailer. I'm also in the mood of brining back an old poll. Who's side are you on? Vote away! (if you have already voted in the past, know that it will not count as this poll only allows one vote per person, you know, for more accurate results.)

Paramore- "That's What You Get" [Music Video]
After the wide success of their chart-topping singles "Misery Business" and "Crushcrushcrush", Paramore decided to make "That's What You Get" the third single from their already-certified Gold album, Riot! The music video for the song was shot in Nashville, Tenessee a few weeks ago and directed by Marcos Siega, who has directed videos for blink-182, Vanessa Carlton, Weezer, Lifehouse, and others. The video tells a great story revolving around a couple and a third-wheel person who seems to ruin their relationship. It's quite interesting, check it out.

Donnie Klang "Take You There" Live @ MTB4 Finale
We've all seen the major success Danity Kane is having with their single and album. Day26 hasn't had quite the same success but their album hits stores tomorrow and it will likely have a nice debut as well... but what happened with Donnie's album? To those who might not know, he didn't make the band on Making The Band 4 season 1 but he was given a solo contract with Bad Boy Records instead, he premiered his debut single "Take You There" last night at the Making the Band 4 season 2 Finale. It's definitely a club-song, very upbeat, but I feel they're turning him into a Justin Timberlake and it's too obvious. Check it out. By the way, his debut album titled Come Into My World is set to hit stores during late Spring.

Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! Keeps That #1
For the second week in a row, Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! lands at the #1 in the weekend box office after collecting another 25 million bucks to add to its now total of 86 million, that's lot of money for a film this early in the year. Landing at number dos with a debut is Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns which managed to make $20 millions, not bad. Other debuts include Shutter and Drillbit Taylor at #3 and #4 respectively. Both films opened with a little over $10 millions. Slow movie weekend overall but not too bad. For a complete list, click here.

Out Friday: Drillbit Taylor
Drillbit Taylor is a comedy film set to hit the big screen today. It's been a while since I've posted anything about movies, but lately, movies are not really worth watching. This film looks funny enough to give it a try. The story revolves around three high school freshmen, who are singled out by school bully Filkins on the first day of class. America's Next Top Model: 4th Photoshoot
Back at the Top Model house in yesterday's episode things start off as Whitney creates a phone list which is a schedule that assigns each girl a limited amount of time to call home. When Dominique misses her phone time, she causes a row with Whitney, escalating to the point where Dominique accuses Whitney of being a racist, of which the latter denies. For their challenge, Benny and Vendela test their knowledge of the three types of poses by pitting them against each other in a posing challenge. Team B consisting of Claire, Katarzyna, Marvita, Stacy Ann and Whitney ultimately wins - a trip to a swag tent. Claire is deemed the best poser overall and wins an additional prize - a trip to Bora Bora.
The week's photo shoot required the girls to do an extreme beauty shot with paint as their main makeup. Most girls deliver once again but Fatima, Marvita and Whitney all struggle with their shoots. In the end, Whitney and Marvita landed in the bottom two, both for their bad photos but also because the judges question their desire. Marvita is eliminated because the judges felt that Whitney had more desire. Check out the photoshoot below.

Kellie Pickler- "Red High Heels" Live on Idol
Yesterday was a mess of a show and thank God Kellie Pickler was there to perform and make it all better. Kellie, who took sixth place of American Idol Season 5 has released a Platinum album and is currently recording her second album that will hit stores later this year - that proves that you don't have to win to become a success. Pickler was invited to perform during eliminations show, I've always liked the way she performed and man! does her body look great. But I'm still confused over her single choice to perform. Mariah Carey Album Cover for E=MC2
Oh brother! There's the cover for E=MC2 - Mariah Carey's album to be released in April. The picture is nice, but dude! The size, font and color they chose for "Mariah" ruins everything. And why is the picture black and white? I'm guessing it's to make it look a bit different from the Emancipation of Mimi cover, 'cuz otherwise it would look exactly the same. Dissapointing, indeed. Terrible album cover.

Day 26- "Got Me Going" [Music Video]
Day 26 have just released the music video for "Got Me Going" - lead single from their self-titled debut album out next week. To those who might not know, Day 26 is the group chosen by Diddy on Making The Band 4, we saw them record their album along with Danity Kane during the newest season of Making The Band. [MP3] Taylor Swift- "Picture To Burn" (uncensored)
After the success she's had with her past three singles and multi-platinum debut album, Taylor Swift decided to make "Picture To Burn" the fourth single to hit country radio. The music video is fun and entertaining... not only does it tell a story, but Taylor looks gorgeous! The video is hot... literally. Too bad they changed up the lyrics from "That's fine I'll tell mine you're gay" to "That's fine don't mind if I say". I found the original lyrics hilarious. But anyway, I'm sure this will become another chart-topper hit for her. Enjoy.
