The nominations for the 2007 MTV VMAs have been announced, there were surprices and more. Beginning with the biggest surprise, Carrie Underwood was nominated under the Best New Artist category, Carrie is a country singer and MTV has never nominated a country singer for a VMA. You can vote for her to win this award, do so!!! If she won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, she can defenitely take home the VMA. Now, both Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé received 7 nominations each including both Best Male and Best Female respectively. However, Beyoncé shares some of her nods with colombian singer, Shakira for their duet "Beautiful Liar". Other nominees include Maroon 5, Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani, Amy Winehouse, Linkin Park, and Lily Allen. For a complete list of nomines CLICK HERE.
