Weekend Box Office Report

Matt Damon's film The Bourne Ultimatium made an impressive debut at #1 on this weekend's box office, making over $70 millions. This is the best opening for any of the Bourne films. Holding strongly at #2 is one of the best cartoon movies, The Simpsons Movie - making another $25 millions which brings their total to $128, and $236 millions worldwide, that's great! Another debut is that film Underdog, which debuts at #3 with $12 millions. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry falls to #4 making $10 millions, now their total gross is of $90 mill. not bad. Now, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix drops to #6, but check this out, this movie has grossed 770 million dollars worldwide! DAMN! Talk about a successful movie! Two other movies, Transformers drops to #9, with a total of $296 millions, and Ratatouille falls to #11 grossing a total of $188 millions so far. Great movies, great numbers.

U.S. Box Office Report

Most new movies were released this past Tuesday instead of the traditional Friday in order to take advantage of the 4th of July holiday. The most watched movie this week, making an incredible $152 million is Transformers, the movie is without a doubt one of the biggest films this year along with Spiderman 3, Shrek The Third, and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 which have made over $300 millions each. Next week's release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will surely add one more title to the growing list of mega-successful movies of 2007. Now coming in at #2 is Disney Pixar's Ratatouille, cartoon comedy that is now standing at an amazing $109 million after being released for just two weeks. Unfortunately, all news are not good, Robin Williams' and Mandy Moore's License to Wed made its opening at #4 with a dissapointing $17 million grossed. Can't wait to see Harry Potter's numbers next week!

Weekend Box Office Report

So this week's most watched movie was one of Disney Pixar's greatest cartoons Ratatouille. This amazing film debuted at #1 with over 47 million dollars grossed - that's great, but no surprise, it's just a hilarious A+ movie. Great job, good luck at next year's Academy Awards. Coming in at number two with over $33 million made is Bruce Willis' Live Free or Die Hard, I did not get a chance to see this movie as I decided to go with Ratatouille instead. Evan Almighty grossed in another $15 million and came in at #3 - now with a total of $60 millions made, not bad you might say, but this movie was made on a $175 million budget and it is easily one of the most expensive comedy films ever made. As for the most successful movie this year, the title remains with Spiderman 3, the movie has made an amazing total of $333 millions, crazy! Let's see if this week's Transformers can top that, or maybe next week's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will change it.

Coming Out Tomorrow: Ratatouille

Ratatouille tells the story of Remy (voiced by Patton Oswalt), a rat living in Paris who wants to become a chef. Remy lives in a French country house with his pack, led by his father Django. Unlike his kin, Remy is a foodie. His innate ability to smell ingredients in food is unappreciated by the pack, who use him as poison sniffer. Remy has been sneaking alone into the kitchen, reading from the cookbook of his hero: the Parisian chef Auguste Gusteau (who had died after a brutal review by food critic Anton Ego). This film was made from the creators of other successful Disney's Pixar cartoons, as The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Monsters Inc.,Cars and A Bug's Life. I personally can't wait to go out and see this film.
