Michelle Branch's New Album Will Be Titled...

Michelle Branch's new album will be titled West Coast Time and you can expect it to hit stores this September. The first single "Loud Music" will be released on June 14th. If you haven't heard it yet, click here to do so. Great song, I recommend it.

Throwback Friday: Michelle Branch- "Everywhere"

Hard to believe this song was released ten years ago! "Everywhere" was the debut single from Michelle Branch, released in July of 2001. The song peaked at #1 in Indonesia and #2 in New Zealand, unfortunately it wasn't that big of a hit everywhere else, in the US the song peaked at #12 while it only reached #18 in the UK and #19 in Australia. The song was not a major chart hit, but I'm sure most of you have heard and like this song. It was criminally overlooked.

"Everywhere" was awarded with the Viewer's Choice moon man at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. Michelle's album The Spirit Room only peaked at #28 on the Billboard 200 but it ended up selling over a million copies and getting certified Platinum in the end.

Michelle Branch Update

Michelle Branch recently had a web talk with her fans, where she gave out details about her upcoming album and the troubles she had with releasing her Country album. Check out some of the highlights below, thanks to Gary:

# She said one the reasons Everything Comes and Goes was never released, was because some people at her label didn't think it was 'Country' enough. She hopes the rest of the album will get heard, but it's unlikely.
# In terms of genre, new album will be in the same vein as The Spirit Room.
# She said Getaway will probably be on the new album...
# ''Through the Radio'' was the only song from EC&G that she hopes to get reworked for the new album
# If she had her way, the new album would come out in the Summer.

Michelle Branch Talks About New Album

"Hey everyone.

Just came by here to check the place out.

Wow. Talk about gathering cobwebs. This place needs a dusting. It's partially my fault that I don't update here anymore. In all honesty I was getting tired of coming on here and proclaiming "Album news coming soon..." over and over again.

There are a handful of people out there that think for some reason that I have control over my album being released. Yes, I have a large say but sometimes things happen that are out of my hands. My record label has been through the ringer as of late. I know you've heard it before but a lot of key people in my world were let go. Warner Nashville just finally hired their new head of promo after almost 4 months of waiting. I literally haven't been able to even make a move because the staff to work the album hasn't been planned yet. There is a lot of restructuring going on and now would be the worst time to release an album. I have to wait until everything gets settled.

That being said, in the interim I have been writing, writing, writing and trying to stay creative. There are a few new songs that I might add to the album to keep it fresh. It won't be pushing it back any further. I'm working on a few different projects, some musical, some not. I'm dying to get on the road and I have some dates that I'll be releasing soon. I know you are all frustrated. Believe me, I am too but this is all for the best. We're gonna have some fantastic new people on board to work this record and I am so excited about that.

I know that an unfortunate stigma the album has received because it's been delayed is that the label isn't supportive of it. That statement couldn't be further from the truth. I sat down recently with the label President and he said, "The only reason we're holding your record is because we care and love and believe in this album. If we didn't, we would have released it already but we want this to be right."

It's tough but I need you to stay positive. I need your support more now than ever. I have my good days when I'm excited and creative and looking forward to what this album can accomplish and I have my bad when I feel like I'm being held hostage by WB and I wanna give up. I'm only human and it's hard when you work your butt off and sit around over analyzing everything.

I promise you, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's getting closer and closer.
