Carrie Underwood and Christina Aguilera Up for A Golden Globe
The Tuesday morning announcement of nominees for the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards pits the naughty musical vamping in Burlesque starring Christina Aguilera against the nice, wholesome, children's fantasy novel Chronicles of Narnia, its theme sung by American Idol darling Carrie Underwood.
The two powerhouse singers each have songs nominated in the Best Original Song category which looks like this:
Bound To You – Burlesque
Music By: Samuel Dixon
Lyrics By: Christina Aguilera and Sia Furler
Coming Home – Country Strong
Music & Lyrics By: Bob DiPiero, Tom Douglas, Hillary Lindsey and Troy Verges
I See The Light – Tangled
Music By: Alan Menken
Lyrics By: Glenn Slater
There's A Place For Us – Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader
Music & Lyrics By: Hillary Lindsey, Carrie Underwood and David Hodges
While this is Underwood’s first nomination, Aguilera sang Reflection, the single off the Mulan soundtrack, nominated for an award in 1999.
The Golden Globe Awards will be telecast Jan. 16th from the Beverly Hilton Hotel where Robert De Niro will receive the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award.
