Kony 2012: Invisible Children

Kony 2012 is a new campaign to spread awareness of Joseph Kony, a man wanted in Africa for his crimes against humanity. His army, the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), abducts children in Uganda and forces them to fight in an army, killing and mutilating others.

Twenty "culture makers" and twelve "policy makers" have been targeted to support this cause to essentially make Kony infamous and demand action. Some of the culture makers include Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga, Bill Gates, Rihanna, Tim Tebow, Ellen Degeneres, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Ben Affleck, Jay-Z, Ryan Seacrest, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Bono.

Invisible Children believes that these celebrities have the loudest voices and will be able to reach full impact by supporting the cause and spreading awareness of the issues.

The "policy makers" are those who will be able to take action with their position of power in the government. Among the 12 are such individuals as George W. Bush, Condoleeza Rice, and Bill Clinton.

Let's watch and see which of these influential people step and make a change.

You can show your support by viewing and sharing the movie for the campaign above. You can also visit Kony2012.com to see the full list, and write to any of the culture or policy makers.

It's sickening to think that a human being is capable of being so evil. I really hope that IC's Kony 2012 initiative is successful, but I know there are a few criticisms going round. Check out a post I've done on the topic and please let me know your thoughts :) http://justmythoughts1987.blogspot.com/2012/03/two-sides-to-every-story.html

If you're seriously advocating this, look further into the situations going on over there. You've all been fooled.
