American Idol Top 2! [What They Performed]

Scotty McCreery
"Gone"
(Favorite Season Performance)

"Check Yes or No"
(George Strait's Choice)

"I Love You This Big"
(Winner Single)

Lauren Alaina
"Flat on the Floor"
(Favorite Performance)

"Maybe It Was Memphis"
(Carrie Underwood's Choice)

"Like My Mother Does"
(Winner Single)

I have to say, I was not excited going into this finale... but Lauren may have just won American Idol with her winner single. It was probably one of the most touching final performances on this show. It was a pretty rushed finale but Lauren took it to where she has never done before. Well done to her. It's time another female wins this show.

The Best Damn Blog picks: Lauren Alaina

Judge's picks:
(Randy/J.Lo/Steven)
Round 1: Scotty/Scotty/Lauren
Round 2: Lauren/Lauren/Lauren
Round 3: Lauren/Lauren/Lauren

Dial Idol predicts Scotty will win. They're never wrong. Another dude wins? Yikes!

You're right! Lauren's performance of "Like My Mother Does" was by far the best Idol finale single. Thank God, they've gotten away from the "Moment Like This" trite type of songs. I have a feeling this song secured a win for Lauren... and I thought Scotty was going to take it until I heard Lauren's potential single

DialIdol is only basing it on the voting so far, which is east coast. Here on the west coast, while we definitely have our country fans, aren't quite so die-hard country and Lauren's got a severe pop appeal (a la Taylor Swift) so I think the DialIdol numbers will change after west coast voting opens up :)

Lauren Didnt Take It Nowhere They Both Sucked And Were Off Tune The Whole Time, WOW Wish Reinhart Would Have Taken Their Place

Wow what a sham tonights show was. If it wasn't evident how slanted this panel was before, it sure was a blatant slap in the face to Scotty tonight. So the show starts with the sympathy creating moment. poor Lauren has a strained voice. America please don't hold it against her. Score one for the producer Nigel. Then rather then judge after each song, they decided to not to judge until both had sang two. Scotty killed that first song, and you could tell Lauren was cheating the chorus the whole time.

Second song......Scotty made George Strait blush with Check Yes or no. One of the best idol final performances ever. Lauren did ok with Maybe it was Memphis, but she was no Pam Tillis, yet everyone seemed to think she did better than Scotty.

Third song....wait for it wait for it.....They all in unison put scotty under the bus. Pretty much made us think his original was nothing special. J-lo crowns Lauren the winner, and Steven says she was better hands down, and Randy says she just won another round. While this may have been Lauren's best song of the night, it was not in the same league with scotty.

If Scotty loses tomorrow, I will be 100 percent positive this show is rigged.

Uh, grey74, I think it's pretty obvious that this whole season was rigged. They wanted the two country teens in the final from day one, and pimped them to the extreme. Pretty obvious that they were pulling for Lauren to win and she just might.
