Rihanna performed her single "California King Bed" live at the Academy of Country Music Awards with the help of Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles. Why was she asked to perform her song at a County award's show, better yet, what was she even doing there?

Yes its surprising to see Rihanna on a country related music program, but I thought it was a great duet! It just shows the versatility of both artists.
I guess the story would be different if she had performed her single AND a Sugarland single with Jennifer. Kind of like Carrie and Steven's performance.

why so negative about her performance at a country event??? if you were an artist, would you say no to an opportunity like that?
