MTV Apologizes for Cursing at Movie Awards

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards was chock full of curse words on Sunday night (June 6). Over 100 curse words in the 122-minute telecast!

The network just released the statement for its poor job of censoring the swearing:

“The MTV Movie Awards is a live televised event known for irreverent comedy and a party atmosphere where our guests speak more freely than they otherwise might. While we aired the live broadcast with a delay, we were unable to mute every word that some might find objectionable. All of these words will be muted in subsequent airings. We sincerely apologize to those in our audience who were offended by any objectionable words that might have slipped by for the live airing.”

I already know the MTV awards will be offensive, so I don't bother watching. Considering their huge drop in ratings, it's clear I'm not the only one.

I'm not sure why the parent television council go so mad at MTV for this. It said TV-14, which means no one under age 14 should watch. Duh! And anyone 14 or over has heard plenty of swear words in their life, so big deal. Even kids younger than 14 have. Sometimes parents can be wayyyyy too strict. It's MTV, what do you expect? If you don't like it, don't watch.

Amen, I was into MTV 10 years ago (I'm only 21), but nowadays it's just the same typical hollywood blatherskite.
