Blogging for a Good Cause : Fur is Dead

As some loyal visitors know, I'm a strong Fur is Dead supporter and every chance I get, I try to encourage visitors into learning more about this issue and getting involved to help stop animal abuse. Many people might not be aware of this, but thanks to Fur is Dead, we learn that to kill the animals without damaging their fur, trappers usually strangle, beat, or stomp them to death. Animals on fur farms may be gassed, electrocuted, poisoned with strychnine, or have their necks snapped. These methods are not 100 percent effective and some animals "wake up" while being skinned.

That's not the only form of abuse though. In the wild, animals can languish in traps for days. Up to 1 out of every 4 trapped animals escapes by chewing off his or her own feet, only to die later from blood loss, fever, gangrene, or predation. In fact, every year, thousands of dogs, cats, raptors, and other so-called "trash" animals are crippled or killed by traps.

Imagine the pain these poor innocent animals go through just because people like us want to use their skin for idiotic fashion purposes. Please, take a moment to visit PETA.org or FURISDEAD.com to learn more and become involved. One by one we can help stop animal cruelty!
