Finally, for the first time since its release, The Dark Knight has given up the #1 spot! Pineapple Express starring James Franco and Seth Rogen was released yesterday (Aug. 6) and took in over $12 million during the day - more than enough to send The Dark Knight down the chart. Films aren't usually released on Tuesday, but The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 was also released yesterday making a little over $5 million the first day, again, just enough to take the #2 spot. But where's The Dark Knight? Well, the film fell to #3 managing to collect over $5 million - enough to bring its box office total to a mind-blowing 410 million dollars! This movie, in just 20 days, has managed to become the seventh highest-grossing film in the US. Madness! We'll see how things shape up for the weekend, it should be interesting.
