2008 Country Music Television Awards - Review

They promised a great show and heck, we got a great show! The performers were incredible, some of the presenters were pretty darn funny, the awards handed out went to the right people, great show overall. The highlight was Taylor Swift winning the award for Female Video of the Year for "Our Song", she was in complete shock and even checked the envelope to see it for herself - of course, we all thought Carrie Underwood was going to win for "So Small", but it's about time someone won other than Carrie, Taylor deserves it. although there were four American Idol alums nominated [Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Kellie Pickler and Bucky Covington] only one took home awards. Idol's Season 5 Kellie Pickler received three CMT Awards for her hit single "I Wonder", including Breakthrough Video of the Year and Live Performance of the Year. These are the first major awards Kellie wins since the release of her Platinum debut album Small Town Girl. Other winners include Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts.
