That’s what the pop diva has told several Music Row executives during her stay in Nashville. And Jessica Simpson has reason to live there. Her country career is off to a powerful start. I’m told meetings went well with Sony BMG label group honchos yesterday, and one of those honchos brought two strong songwriters, Aimee Mayo ("Amazed") and Hillary Lindsey ("Jesus, Take the Wheel"), to meet Jessica. At new tequila bar hot spot Agave, in the Gulch, Jessica’s tablemates included Kellie Pickler, John Rich of Big & Rich, Jessica’s dad/manager, Joe Simpson, Jessica’s buddy/former assistant, Cacee Cobb, and Hilary and Holly Williams, Bocephus’ daughters. By the by, Jessica has recorded in Nashville before. When she was around 14 or so, she came here to cut a Christian album. -Music City TV Looks like Jessica is definitely making the crossover into Country music! Can't wait to hear some of her new stuff soon.
