The Numbers Are In! This Week's Billboard 200

America's got a new #1 album and it comes from rapper T.I., his album "T.I. vs. T.I.P." pulled in over 465,000 copies on its debut week. Not bad, but far less than what his previous album "KING" made the first week. Moving on, holding steadily at #2 is Disney sensation Hannah Montana, who sold another 185,000 copies this week of the soundtrack to make a total of more than 500,000 records sold in two weeks and a Gold certification by the RIAA. Now, in it’s second week in release, Kelly Clarkson’s "My December" is sliding much higher than usual, having a 61% drop off in sale - according to Hits Daily Double. The album sold 116,364 copies this week, good enough for the #3 spot on the album charts. Meanwhile, it's been said that RCA Records and its head man, Clive Davis, have abandoned any “future plans” to promote Kelly Clarkson’s new CD. Instead, Davis has moved on to Idol sweetheart Carrie Underwood’s follow-up to her 6-million selling "Some Hearts" CD. When Clarkson’s My December failed to debut at #1 last week, RCA pulled almost all of their summer campaign off tv and print spots and have moved on to Underwood’s much anticipated fall release. But anyway, the biggest dissapointment has to be for Kelly Rowland, her album "Ms. Kelly" debuted at #6 selling just over 80,000 copies, way way less than what her bff BeyoncĂ© sold during the first week of release of her "B'Day" album which pulled almost 600,000 copies its first week. To finish it up, this week's release of Aly & AJ's "Insomniatic" will hopefully bring us a new #1. Good luck!
