This Weekend's Box Office Report
With such great movies released this weekend, the numbers turned out to be rather dissapointing. Not one film managed to go over the 40 million dollar mark, it looks as if people were too busy this weekend. Anyway, the most watched movie was Warner Bros' Ocean's Thirteen, which made an opening at #1 with $37 millions. It's not bad, but not what was expected. Shortly behind, with $21 million made comes Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End which seems to be holding steady, bringing their total up to $253 million - amazing! Universal's comedy Knocked Up falls to number three bringing in another $20 million to make their gross total of $66 million, not bad. Now, Sony Pictures' cartoon film Surf's Up debuts at #4 with $18 million. Talking about cartoons, we move to the number five most-watched movie this weekend, Shrek The Third pulls in another great $15 million, now the Ogre's total is of $281 millions! WOW! Talk about successs! Moving on to this week's biggest dissapointment... Hostel Part II only managed to make just $8 million debuting at number six - now that's bad... looks like fans are just not into horror films anymore. Wrapping it up with this year's most successful movie, at number eight we find Spider Man 3, which with another $4 million banked their total comes up to an incredible $325 mill! That's heck of a lot of money. This week comes Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Hopefully they'll bank millions.
