Star Trek Sequel Gets A Release Date

Paramount has confirmed to MTV that the projected release date for the Star Trek sequel is indeed June 29, 2012. And that's it! Paramount are keeping their lips seales about this production as nothing else was confirmed or announced, just that we can expect to see a Star Trek 2 hitting the big screen on June of 2012. There it is.

For the second week in a row, Disney Pixar's Up claims the #1 spot on the box office this weekend making a great $44 million, not too far behind came The Hangover with $43 million. Here's the rest of the top five.

Out in Theatres Now!

Out on the big screen right now is another of this year's most awaited-for films, Star Trek which features on the main characters of the original Star Trek series, who are portrayed by a new cast, though the film introduces a retroactively altered timeline which changes the events of the original series and the previous movies. It explores the backstories of James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto), before they unite aboard the USS Enterprise to combat Nero (Eric Bana), a Romulan from the future who threatens the United Federation of Planets. Sounds good! Can't wait to see this one.
