Danny Gokey- "Second Hand Heart" [Single Premiere]

Pretty good song. I still find it so odd he chose to go country though.

Lady Antebellum's New Album Back at #1

After losing the #1 spot to Sade a few weeks back, Country trio Lady Antebellum have reclaimed the top on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Their album Need You Now sold an impressive 125,000 copies on its sixth week out. Sade moves down a spot to #2 with Soldier of Love, while Country's men Blake Shelton and Danny Gokey debut at #3 and #4 respectively both selling about 70,000 copies of their new albums. Pretty impressive for Gokey I must say.

[MP3] Danny Gokey- "It's Only"

Danny Gokey has released his debut single! The song is called "It's Only" and it premiered on Country radio today. This is the last release from an Idol contestant of the past season, none of the other finalists have scored deals yet. I like the song, it's nice... it should do well in Country radio. His debut album on RCA Nashville is expected to hit stores next March.

Danny Gokey Signed to Aristna Nashville

Is he really going Country? Didn't see that coming. American Idol’s bespectacled third-place finisher, Danny Gokey, has cut a record deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Nashville, marking the first time in the show’s history that Idol’s recording arm has signed the entire final four.

Contracts for winner Kris Allen, runner-up Adam Lambert and fourth-place finisher Allison Iraheta were announced in June.

“We absolutely love Danny,” says Sony Music Nashville chairman Joe Galante, who praises the “soulful edge” in the 29-year-old singer’s gravelly voice. “We haven’t had anybody like that (in country) since Ronnie Milsap or T. Graham Brown.”

Though no producer is attached to Gokey’s album yet, he’ll go into a Nashville studio shortly after the Idols Live tour ends September 15th. Galante expects a single in late fall and an album to follow, most likely in March 2010.- USA Today
