Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina - Front Runners?
According to TMZ, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina have been the top vote getters on American Idol this season. And, they're told James Durbin is consistently scoring in the top three.
As for Pia Toscano... their sources say -- based on the voting -- she never stood a chance of winning. Pia placed in the murky middle until she was booted off.
But don't feel too bad for Pia -- sources say it's a "certainty" she will sign a deal with Interscope Records.
Looks like we will have our second country-singer win American Idol.

Pia's votes will be split up between Lauren and Haley... they will also likely get a spike in votes from people who feel like the voting has favored the men thus far.
Lauren and Haley will likely stick around until Stefano, Paul, Jacob and Casey are gone. The it will come down to Scotty, Lauren, James and Haley. Scotty and Lauren obviously being in the Top 2... and if people are tired of the male winner, Lauren will win this whole thing.
I say it before and I say it again I think Laures is gonna win this thing she is like a mini-kelly clarkson ready to blow, also she is not that country she have a little bit of that she is more pop-rock type..I don't want Scotty in the top too at all he is not AI winner at all he is gettin me tired he just have one trick with his voice he just get votes cause he is cute he do a seductive-player look on his face during the perfomances and that's how he get voices I prefer all be between Lauren and James I like Paul and Casey also..but I have to face the facts I don't think they will make it to the top 3 Stefano needs to leave already he sucks and for Lauren and Jacob I don't find them memorable also like Pia but like Pia they have amazing talent, but still not stage precence like Laure, Scotty, Paul, Casey or James have.
UGH! Scotty and Laura are so annoying. Now that Pia is gone, I hope that Casey wins... however I think he's overrated... I thought Thia and Karen were WAYY better vocalists than Laura and definitely better than Hailey. Grrr this season had great people and they ruined it.
Lauren and Haley are the best girls of the season. They have the voice, the personality, and the looks to really make it big in music. Pia had a beautiful voice but she had NO personality at all. That's why she got voted off. I really think Lauren will win this and be like a country pop act like Carrie and maybe cross over like Taylor swift and have that kelly clarkson edge.
Love the country appreciation on Idol. I definitely hope that Scotty and Lauren stick around for more. They're proving that, more than most genres, country really focuses on the singing!
TMZ is surprisingly accurate for a hollyweird ragmag(site?), so here's hoping their streak continues.

I can believe Scotty being a top vote getter for sure. To me Pia can sing circles around Lauren, and so can Haley. I personally didn't even have Lauren in my top 6 girls this year. If she could sing the way she sang tonight with that duet with Scotty on performance night it would make me like her more. I always feel so let down by her, so uninspired. Last night she was again on autopilot until the last 20 seconds of the song. Sometimes I feel she thinks she is so good she feels she doesn't really need to compete. But let's go bottom line here, she is a benefactor of the same young crowd who are all gaga over Taylor Swift. They are going to continue to vote for her regardless of what she does.
