Avatar coincided its home video release with Earth Day yesterday and its doing VERY well in sales!In fact, 1.5 million copies of the film on Blu-ray were purchased and over 4 million copies of the film were sold altogether!
A 3D version will hit Blu-ray early next year since the studio and filmmakers wanted to wait until more homes own the equipment. There will also be more special features on the later release. - PerezHilton.com
