Michelle Branch Talks About New Album

"Hey everyone.

Just came by here to check the place out.

Wow. Talk about gathering cobwebs. This place needs a dusting. It's partially my fault that I don't update here anymore. In all honesty I was getting tired of coming on here and proclaiming "Album news coming soon..." over and over again.

There are a handful of people out there that think for some reason that I have control over my album being released. Yes, I have a large say but sometimes things happen that are out of my hands. My record label has been through the ringer as of late. I know you've heard it before but a lot of key people in my world were let go. Warner Nashville just finally hired their new head of promo after almost 4 months of waiting. I literally haven't been able to even make a move because the staff to work the album hasn't been planned yet. There is a lot of restructuring going on and now would be the worst time to release an album. I have to wait until everything gets settled.

That being said, in the interim I have been writing, writing, writing and trying to stay creative. There are a few new songs that I might add to the album to keep it fresh. It won't be pushing it back any further. I'm working on a few different projects, some musical, some not. I'm dying to get on the road and I have some dates that I'll be releasing soon. I know you are all frustrated. Believe me, I am too but this is all for the best. We're gonna have some fantastic new people on board to work this record and I am so excited about that.

I know that an unfortunate stigma the album has received because it's been delayed is that the label isn't supportive of it. That statement couldn't be further from the truth. I sat down recently with the label President and he said, "The only reason we're holding your record is because we care and love and believe in this album. If we didn't, we would have released it already but we want this to be right."

It's tough but I need you to stay positive. I need your support more now than ever. I have my good days when I'm excited and creative and looking forward to what this album can accomplish and I have my bad when I feel like I'm being held hostage by WB and I wanna give up. I'm only human and it's hard when you work your butt off and sit around over analyzing everything.

I promise you, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's getting closer and closer.

The Hills Final Season Trailer

In a sneak peek of the final season of The Hills, Heidi Montag comes home after undergoing 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day.

"I haven't seen anyone since my surgery -- no one's seen Heidi 3.0," she says.

But when she asks her mom whether she looks good, her mom refuses to answer.

"I think you should rephrase the question," says her mom.

For a while now, Katy Perry has been teasing fans about her upcoming album. And just in case you didn't believe her when she said it would hark back to the days when Ace of Base ruled the roller rink, she assured MTV News this weekend that she's sticking to the plan.

"I'm so excited!" she said on the orange carpet before the Kids' Choice Awards, where Perry was later slimed. "It's so exciting. It's coming out this summer. It's a summer record."

Out Today in Theaters

The film is set in a mythical world of Vikings and dragons. The story centers on a Viking teenager named Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) who lives on the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. The teen’s smarts and offbeat sense of humor are disliked by his tribe and its chief, Hiccup’s father, Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler). However, when Hiccup is included in Dragon Training with the other Viking teens, including a girl, Astrid (America Ferrera), he sees his chance to prove that he has what it takes to be a fighter. After he entangles a dragon with a bolas-shooting cannon, Hiccup releases and befriends the dragon, whom he dubs "Toothless." This relationship flips his world upside-down as he strives to convince his tribe that they don't need to be dragon-slayers but instead ends up angering them, causing them to lead an attack on the dragons' home.

Dancing With The Stars Ratings Are In!

And they're good! Dancing With The Stars came back with a vengeance in the ratings last night, winning in every primetime slot and coming up 19% from last year! The show gathered 22 million viewers during the first hour and growing to 25 million during the second hour of the premiere. Impressive. Everyone was tunning in to watch Kate Gosselin dance I suppose, considering Dial Idol shows her with a pretty big lead at #1 in votes.

Mariah Carey's New Album Cancelled

Mariah Carey's new LP has been cancelled, according to reports.

Carey's 13th studio album and second remix album, titled Angels Advocate, was originally slated for a UK release on April 26.

A statement on Mariah Journal said: "[We are] able to confirm that the Angels Advocate album, a Remixed edition of Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel will not be released."

"According to Mariah's management, the album will not be put out in the regular album fashion but they are working on releasing some singles off the album. 'It won't go to waste,' we were assured."

The website reports that Carey's management team are considering recording a Christmas album.

"We are looking to go possibly to another studio album or Christmas album. The decision hasn't been totally made yet. It's a creative process that cannot be rushed," they are quoted as saying.

Taio Cruz Talks About Upcoming Video with Ke$ha

Taio Cruz has opened up about the video for his upcoming single “Dirty Picture,” which features Ke$ha.

“The video is looking amazing,” the 26-year-old British singing sensation tells MTV. “We’ve got her performing in a public bathroom, which is quite entertaining. (chuckles) The setting is an underground basement with folks having a good time and Ke$ha being, well, Ke$ha-y.”

Taio continues, “Yeah, she’s crazy. She’s cool. She’s not like a mad person — she doesn’t have, like, any kind of censor on what she wants to say. When she wants to say something she just says it and then it’s so much fun. We just had a great time on the set of the video and she’s just an amazing performer and artist.”

Taio’s upcoming album, Rockstarr, is set for a May 18th release. “Dirty Picture” reportedly won’t hit radios until June. - MTV.com

Video of the Week: Sum 41- "The Hell Song"

I haven't posted a video of the week in a while, and since there's nothing better to post today, why not? "The Hell Song" was the second single released from Sum 41's sophomore album Does This Look Infected? released in 2002. I was a big fan of this video, I thought the concept was great. Haven't seen a video like this again. It's also nice to take a trip down memory lane. Check it out! Enjoy.

Don't Look For Deleted Scenes on New Moon DVD

The eagerly awaited edition of "New Moon" hitting stores tomorrow will not feature deleted scenes as he had discussed before.

"I'm basically a big, fat liar," he tells PopcornBiz. "I put it out there that there are deleted scenes, but I just realized there aren't. It was an honest mistake."

"I don't want to get Twilight fans banging down my door demanding deleted scenes."

He only found out late in the game that Summit Entertainment is going to parse out the extra goodies slowly on DVDs. Right now the main interest for people is owning the DVD, so there aren't the full boat of goodies (though it does feature of making-of documentary and commentary from Weitz).

In the next DVD release they'll add the deleted scenes. "Shall we be honest, it's marketing," he says.

So more bang for the buck? "I think that's the case, but you said it, not me."

Weitz says he's most excited about seeing the deleted scene featuring Rachelle Lefevre that ended up on the cutting room floor. It's more than just the fact that "New Moon" was Lefevre's last movie in the series. It's just an awesome scene that was cut for flow reasons.

"She's on her way to Forks, just generally being a bad ass and killing the passenger of a very fast car," he says. "I'll feel good when people see that."
